Baseball Recap: Clinton Triumphs

Clinton won the last time they faced Madison and things went their way on Thursday too. The Redskins came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redskins.

The team relied heavily on Jaxon Phillip, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacari Garrison, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Clinton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison only posted a batting average of .167.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-9.

Looking ahead, Clinton will square off against Angola at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Redskins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Madison, they will challenge Dundee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
