The Aledo Bearcats will venture away from home to face off against the Boswell Pioneers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Boswell's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Aledo hadn't allowed a single run the last seven times they've hit the field. The Bearcats' pitcher stepped up to hand Saginaw a 20-0 shutout on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Rough Riders: they've now won eight in a row.

RYLEE MARX made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on KELLYN OVERTURFF, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. GRACE HEATH was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Aledo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Boswell made sure to put some runs up on the board against North Crowley on Friday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-0 victory. That looming 18-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pioneers yet this season.
Layla David was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Dallas Rutter also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Boswell is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Aledo, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Aledo has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Boswell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Aledo took their win against Boswell in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
