Softball Recap: Northwest Christian Drops Season-High Score on Benjamin Franklin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest Christian). They were the clear victors by a 27-15 margin over the Benjamin Franklin Chargers on Tuesday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Kinsey Unger and Ella Reuter did most of the damage at the plate: Unger fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5, while Reuter fired off three home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-6. That's the most hits Reuter has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mia Angus, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run.

Northwest Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Northwest Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Benjamin Franklin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
