South Kingstown hasn't had much luck against Waterford recently, but that could start to change on Friday. South Kingstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Coventry, who was ranked 18th at the time (South Kingstown was ranked third). The Rebels' pitchers stepped up to hand the Oakers a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Rebels have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Connor Wokoske looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jonah Monnes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Michael DiGioia was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Waterford's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 9-3 to Bishop Hendricken. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered since April 24, 2024.
The victory (which was South Kingstown's third in a row) raised their record to 16-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Waterford, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
