Basketball Recap: Clopton Piles Up the Points Against Wellsville-Middletown

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Quincy Notre Dame, Clopton was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They claimed a resounding 69-23 win over the Wellsville-Middletown Tigers. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Clopton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.4 points. As for Wellsville-Middletown, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Clopton will challenge Wright City at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wellsville-Middletown, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Van-Far at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellsville-Middletown is facing Van-Far at the right time seeing as Van-Far is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
