Baseball Recap: Pinole Valley Falls to Acalanes in First Game of Season

Pinole Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Acalanes Dons by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dons from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Jaylen Smalls made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Pinole Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Vintage on the 27th. As for Acalanes, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-5 defeat against Piedmont on the 28th.
