Recap: Southwest Legacy Titans vs. Harlandale Indians
The Southwest Legacy Titans fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Harlandale Indians on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 69-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Southwest Legacy still got an impressive performance from Giovanni Aranda, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Aranda has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. David Fuller was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Southwest Legacy and nudges their season record down to 11-20. As for Harlandale, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season.
Southwest Legacy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Medina Valley at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Medina Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Southwest Legacy likes a good challenge. As for Harlandale, they will head out on the road to square off against Winn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winn is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season.
