Softball Recap: Shikellamy Takes a Loss

Shikellamy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 10-7 to the Williamsport Millionaires. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Millionaires this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 back in April.

Ella Oakes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Gweneth Wiest, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Shikellamy's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Williamsport, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shikellamy will welcome Montoursville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Williamsport, they will host State College at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Little Lions will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Millionaires surely won't give up without a fight.
