Baseball Game Preview: Roane County Raiders vs. South Charleston Black Eagles

The Roane County Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the South Charleston Black Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Roane County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Buffalo just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Bison by a score of 4-3.

C KINDER was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, South Charleston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Parkersburg. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

South Charleston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Hackman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

South Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Roane County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

South Charleston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Roane County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for South Charleston, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain Roane County's hitters?
