Soccer Game Preview: Bartlesville vs. Northwest Classen

The Bartlesville Bruins will square off against the Northwest Classen Knights on Friday. Bartlesville's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Bartlesville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They beat Union by a goal, winning 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given Bartlesville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Union are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Northwest Classen kept a clean sheet against Putnam City West on Wednesday. They blew past the Patriots 3-0. The result was nothing new for Northwest Classen, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory got Bartlesville back to even at 8-8. As for Northwest Classen, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Bartlesville took their win against Northwest Classen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
