Basketball Recap: Edison Falls Short of Jay in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Edison can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Jay Mustangs and fell 72-40. The Golden Bears have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Zachariah Linson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Jay, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. Linson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarrius Jackson Jr, who posted 12 points.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 15-19. As for Jay, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 32-2.

Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jay, they will face off against Alamo Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jay knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Alamo Heights likes a good challenge.
