Sarasota has gone 9-1 against North Port recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Sarasota Sailors will face off against the North Port Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Sarasota's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so North Port's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Sarasota took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Palmetto, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Sarasota skirted past Palmetto 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sailors have posted since March 25, 2024.

Sarasota got a great performance from Cesar Garmendia as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Garmendia has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mark Metcalf, who scored two runs while going 4-for-5. Nelson Dominguez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, North Port unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Island Coast, falling 8-0.

North Port's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Sarasota, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3-1.

Everything went Sarasota's way against North Port in their previous matchup back in February, as Sarasota made off with an 8-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sarasota since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
