Basketball Recap: South Comes Up Short

South lost against North back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The South Rebels took a 35-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Rangers. The matchup marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why South lost, don't look at Maddie Luciano. Despite the final result, she posted 15 points.

Kaitlin Dobida continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. The game was Dobida's eighth in a row with at least 16 points. Alex Hamilton was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

South's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12. As for North, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.

South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-30 loss against Riverside on the 8th. As for North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-41 defeat against Mayfield on the 8th.
