Soccer Game Preview: Rowlett vs. Wylie East

Rowlett hasn't had much luck against Wylie East recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rowlett Eagles will take on the Wylie East Raiders at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

While Rowlett didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let Lakeview Centennial onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Patriots are ranked 591st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wylie East put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Naaman Forest. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Rowlett's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three games. As for Wylie East, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0-1.

Rowlett suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Wylie East in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Rowlett avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
