Football Preview: East Bay Indians vs. Newsome Wolves

The East Bay Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Newsome Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newsome took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on East Bay, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, East Bay didn't have too much trouble with Hillsborough on the road as they won 28-13.

East Bay relied on the efforts of Jaeryn Millerd, who gained 82 total yards and two touchdowns, and William Boyd, who threw for 91 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. Millerd got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of55 yards.

Meanwhile, Newsome came up short against Palmetto on Friday and fell 21-14.

Although Newsome took the loss, they still got scores from Tariq Sapp and Jaikim Haggans.

The victory got East Bay back to even at 1-1. As for Newsome, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

East Bay was able to grind out a solid win over Newsome when the teams last played back in August of 2018, winning 20-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Bay since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
