Basketball Recap: ASPIRA Charter Wolves vs. McKean Highlanders

After flying high against the Avon Grove Charter Wolves last Tuesday, the ASPIRA Charter Wolves came back down to earth. ASPIRA Charter took a 27-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders on Thursday. If ASPIRA Charter was looking for revenge after losing 44-15 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

McKean's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexus Barlow, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Barlow is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Alexia Jeffers was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds and three steals.

ASPIRA Charter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 1-12 record this season. As for McKean, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10.

ASPIRA Charter has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on February 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (Concord is ranked 36th, while the Wolves are ranked 58th). As for McKean, they will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
