Football Game Preview: South Allegheny Gladiators vs. Sto-Rox Vikings

The South Allegheny Gladiators will face off against the Sto-Rox Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Allegheny is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

South Allegheny's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over Apollo Ridge. The result was nothing new for the Gladiators, who have now won seven games by 22 points or more so far this season.

South Allegheny relied on the efforts of Tyrone Claytor, who rushed for 140 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, and Hakim Harrell, who rushed for 136 yards and one TD. Harrell really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was Alijah Cook, who threw for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

South Allegheny's run defense was locked in: Apollo Ridge could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The Gladiators didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 18.7.

Meanwhile, Sto-Rox had just enough and edged out Carlynton 8-6 on Friday.

Sto-Rox's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for South Allegheny, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Everything came up roses for South Allegheny against Sto-Rox when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-0 win. Do the Gladiators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
