National Trail extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They lost 9-2 to the Union City Indians. The Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

As for Union City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Union City, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Union City's part, Kierra Thacker tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. With that strong performance, Thacker is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Oaklee Reichard was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Lillian Zigler was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. National Trail will square off against Cedarville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union City, they will take on Cowan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
