Sports Leadership & Management is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Mater Academy East Las Vegas.

Mya Schweisthal made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Schweisthal wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lexi St. Pierre, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Naima Ralston was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Sports Leadership & Management hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Moapa Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against The Meadows School on Monday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 18-3 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by seven runs or more this season.
Like Sports Leadership & Management, Moapa Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Saphire Holm. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Holm was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracy Fullman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Emmy Cornwall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Sports Leadership & Management's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Moapa Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sports Leadership & Management hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .521. However, it's not like Moapa Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .573. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sports Leadership & Management came out on top in a nail-biter against Moapa Valley when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulls since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
