Baseball Recap: Niagara Falls Wolverines vs. McQuaid Jesuit Knights

Suggested Video

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Niagara Falls had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the McQuaid Jesuit Knights get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Not much got past Trevor Meidenbauer, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep McQuaid Jesuit off the board. Meidenbauer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Savino, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May.
