Baseball Game Preview: Roxana Shells vs. Freeburg Midgets

The Roxana Shells will head out to take on the Freeburg Midgets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roxana's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Freeburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Roxana's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Freeburg, sneaking past 2-0. The Shells haven't had any issues with the Midgets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

For Freeburg's part, Gabe Lueth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. Lueth also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Midgets are 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Freeburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Biehl, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Roxana's record now sits at 17-7-1. As for Freeburg, their record is now 12-10.
