Softball Recap: Old Orchard Beach Takes a Loss

Old Orchard Beach came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-1 to the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Thursday.

Old Orchard Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for North Yarmouth Academy, their record now sits at 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Old Orchard Beach will head out to face off against Mount Abram at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Yarmouth Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Freeport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
