Wahoo's loss ends three-game winning streak at home

Recap: Wahoo Warriors vs. Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays

The Wahoo Warriors were the 40-16 winner over the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Wahoo fell 41-32 to Ashland-Greenwood on Saturday. Wahoo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wahoo's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Lausterer, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracey Fairbanks, who scored five points.

Wahoo's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wahoo will square off against Malcolm at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Malcolm is ranked 45th, while Wahoo is ranked 70th). Ashland-Greenwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bennington at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st.
