Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lampeter-Strasburg). They walked away with a 68-61 victory over the Solanco Golden Mules on Wednesday. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Golden Mules are ranked 531st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lampeter-Strasburg had a senior duo take command as Chase Smucker went 9 of 16 en route to 30 points and seven rebounds and Jared Hostetter went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Kouterick, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Lampeter-Strasburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Lampeter-Strasburg moved to 8-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Solanco, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Lampeter-Strasburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-51 defeat against Octorara Area on the 10th. As for Solanco, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-48 victory against Ephrata on the 9th.
