Basketball Recap: New Miami Takes a Loss

New Miami was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions 73-18. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in February.

Casey Heap went supernova for Miami Valley Christian Academy, going 7 for 8from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Gearding, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.

New Miami's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

New Miami will head out on the road to take on Tri-County North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 86-52 victory against Bethel-Tate on the 7th.
