Volleyball Recap: Deerfield Beach Comes Up Short

If Deerfield Beach was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Hollywood Hills last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bucks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Broward Bobcats on Wednesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-15, 20-25, 25-11.

Giovanna Campos paced Deerfield Beach's offense, picking up nine kills. Campos got some help from Audrianna Calvet and her 14 assists. Finally, Mia Campbell kept Deerfield Beach's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Deerfield Beach has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for West Broward, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Deerfield Beach has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Somerset Academy on the 25th. As for West Broward, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Pompano Beach on the 25th.
