Basketball Recap: Rapides Takes a Loss

Rapides was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 65-55 to the Plainview Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Hornets are ranked 62nd).

Rapides' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Plainview, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rapides won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pineville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plainview, they will venture away from home to challenge Oak Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
