Softball Game Preview: Bishop McNamara Mustangs vs. Edison Eagles

The Bishop McNamara Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Edison Eagles at 6:00 a.m. on Monday. Bishop McNamara has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bishop McNamara lost 14-1 to St. Mary's Ryken on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edison). They put the hurt on Annandale with a sharp 18-5 win on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Marley Jackson, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyn Roberson, who scored five runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Edison now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Bishop McNamara, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
