Basketball Recap: Trinity Episcopal Comes Up Short

Trinity Episcopal was the 75-40 winner over Virginia Episcopal School when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Titans fell 66-56 to the Bishops on Saturday. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Virginia Episcopal School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marquez Barrera led the charge by shooting 50% from the field on his way to 16 points and four steals. Barrera's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Norris, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Trinity Episcopal now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Virginia Episcopal School, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Episcopal will challenge Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.23 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Virginia Episcopal School, they will square off against North Cross at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bishops' defense better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 65 points per game this season.
