Preview: La Center Wildcats vs. Seton Catholic Cougars
La Center has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Seton Catholic Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, La Center didn't have too much trouble with Mt. Baker at home as they won 33-19.
La Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Houston Coyle led the charge by throwing for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. La Center also got a significant boost from Kaden Emerson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
Meanwhile, Seton Catholic put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They walked away with a 38-27 win over Castle Rock.
Jacob Williams went supernova for Seton Catholic, rushing for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Joe Callerame was another key contributor, rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 6-0 season records intact.
Everything came up roses for La Center against Seton Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 70-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Center since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
