Baseball Recap: Purcell Comes Up Short

If Purcell was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Shawnee last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons fell 4-1 to the Heritage Hall Chargers on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Parker Page spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Purcell's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Heritage Hall, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

While Purcell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
