Basketball Recap: Cobre Comes Up Short

Cobre lost against Silver back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cobre Indians took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silver Fighting Colts.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylianna Castillo, who posted nine points along with eight steals and six rebounds. That's the most steals Castillo has posted since back in January of 2024. Kianna Murillo was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Cobre's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Silver, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Cobre wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-50 victory against Ruidoso on the 17th. Silver has also already played their next match, a 32-27 loss against Alamogordo on the 16th.
