Softball Recap: Lola Wells Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Spring Hill

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbia Central, Warren County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spring Hill Raiders a 15-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

Ceilee Gudat was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Lola Wells was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Wilson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.

Warren County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Hill only managed one hit.

Warren County's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Spring Hill, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren County will take on Columbia Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spring Hill, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mt. Pleasant at 11:00 a.m.
