Volleyball Game Preview: Dugway Mustangs vs. Salt Lake Academy Griffins

Dugway is 0-4 against Salt Lake Academy since April of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. The Mustangs will face off against the Griffins at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Dugway is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Rockwell 3-0. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Marshals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Dugway was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-10, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Salt Lake Academy had already won ten in a row and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Marshals with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Salt Lake Academy took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-4, 25-13, 25-10.

Salt Lake Academy's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-6. As for Dugway, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Dugway might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Salt Lake Academy when the teams last played back in April. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
