Softball Recap: North Florida Christian Wins Going Away Against Wakulla Christian School

With a playoff win on the line, North Florida Christian rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Wakulla Christian School Saints 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Skylar Young was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Lila Riggan was a standout: she got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Madison Travis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

North Florida Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Wakulla Christian School, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.

Looking ahead, North Florida Christian will face off against St. John Paul II at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wakulla Christian School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
