Basketball Game Preview: Belvidere North Blue Thunder vs. Jefferson J-Hawks

The Belvidere North Blue Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the Jefferson J-Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Belvidere North has four straight victories, Jefferson has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Belvidere North made easy work of Belvidere and carried off a 41-20 win. The Blue Thunder have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 32-32 at halftime, Jefferson was not quite Rockford East's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the E-Rabs. While losing is never fun, the J-Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the E-Rabs are ranked 192nd).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Belvidere North, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Belvidere North strolled past Jefferson in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 57-38. Does Belvidere North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jefferson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
