Baseball Recap: Hopkins Academy Drops Season-High Score on Ludlow

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hopkins Academy). They blew past the Ludlow Lions 17-9 on Tuesday. Considering the Golden Hawks have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hopkins Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Ludlow, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Hopkins Academy will face off against Pioneer Valley Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Ludlow, they will take on Monson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
