Basketball Game Preview: De Soto Pirates vs. Kickapoo Panthers

De Soto hasn't had much luck against Kickapoo recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The De Soto Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Kickapoo Panthers at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, De Soto made easy work of North Crawford and carried off a 67-45 victory. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Kickapoo waltzed into their match on Thursday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They secured a 38-34 W over the Hornets.

De Soto is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Kickapoo, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

De Soto came up short against Kickapoo when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 63-58. Can De Soto avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
