Football Game Preview: Alpena Wildcats vs. Gaylord Blue Devils + How To Watch

Alpena is 0-6 against Gaylord since September of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will face off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m.

Alpena is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 39 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Petoskey on Friday. They came up short against the Northmen, falling 24-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Northmen are ranked 165th).

Meanwhile, Gaylord strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Cadillac 37-9. The Blue Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Gaylord's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Alpena, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Alpena was dealt a bruising 51-0 loss at the hands of Gaylord when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
