Baseball Recap: Nashoba Regional Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Nashoba Regional won the last time they faced Marlborough and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wolves walked away with a 5-1 win over the Panthers.

Jake Schwartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Nashoba Regional is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Nashoba Regional saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Libby, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Nikhil Siano, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Nashoba Regional has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Marlborough, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nashoba Regional will face off against Shepherd Hill Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marlborough, they will challenge North Middlesex Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
