Recap: Northeast Vikings vs. Motivation Jaguars
The Northeast Vikings had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.1 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Motivation 83-33 at home. Northeast's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Darrius Gaeta continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with nine steals and six assists. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Miller, who scored 13 points.
Northeast pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Motivation, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Northeast won't have much time to rest: their next match is against George Washington at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully George Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday. As for Motivation, they will head out on the road to face off against Swenson Arts & Tech at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Swenson Arts & Tech has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
