Recap: Ellinwood Eagles vs. Minneapolis Lions
The Ellinwood Eagles suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 66-24 loss at the hands of Minneapolis. While losing is never fun, Ellinwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Minneapolis is ranked 48th).
Bennett Jacobs was Ellinwood's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Reece Stickney held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Ellinwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Minneapolis, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellinwood will square off against Otis-Bison on Thursday. Minneapolis will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hillsboro on Friday.
