Basketball Recap: Hamilton Skates Past Gila Ridge with Ease

The matchup between Hamilton and Gila Ridge on Monday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Huskies took their matchup with ease, bagging a 91-25 win over the Hawks. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-19.

Leading Hamilton to victory were Nate Tainsky and Cameron Clayton. Tainsky went 7-for-8 on his way to 18 points and three steals, while Clayton posted 13 points along with five boards and three steals. Tainsky is becoming a predictor of the Huskies' success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Sinceer Phipps was another key player, putting up seven points and six steals.

Hamilton was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Hamilton pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.5 points. As for Gila Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Hamilton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Gila Ridge, they will take on Monsignor Scanlan in a tournament on Thursday.
