Volleyball Recap: Chico Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Red Bluff on Tuesday, Chico came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Foothill Cougars on Thursday, falling 3-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chico might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Foothill: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Chico saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lyla Taylor had seven aces and six assists. Those seven aces set a new season-high mark for Taylor.

Chico dropped their record down to 13-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Foothill, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Chico didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Pleasant Valley on the 7th. As for Foothill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Red Bluff on the 7th.
