Football Recap: Mater Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Mater Academy Charter and Coconut Creek squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mater Academy Charter had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Cougars 49-20. It was the first time this season that the Lions let down their fans at home.

Mater Academy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Coconut Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Mater Academy Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coconut Creek, they will square off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cougars 11.2, the Raiders 14.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
