Porter Ridge has gone a perfect 9-0 against Central Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. While Porter Ridge's victory against Independence wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Given Porter Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Independence are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central Academy kept a clean sheet against Monroe on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Redhawks with a sharp 7-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Central Academy.

Central Academy picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Porter Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-4.

Everything went Porter Ridge's way against Central Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Porter Ridge made off with a 9-0 win. Will Porter Ridge repeat their success, or does Central Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
