Basketball Recap: Nazareth Takes a Loss

After a string of seven wins, Nazareth's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to the Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (63), the Kingsmen still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Nazareth lost, don't look at Makylah Moore. Despite the final result, she posted 25 points. The matchup was Moore's fourth in a row with at least 19 points.

Nazareth's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Monsignor Scanlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Nazareth will face off against Cardinal O'Hara at 5:00 p.m. on March 7th. Nazareth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Cardinal O'Hara likes a good challenge. Monsignor Scanlan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
