Volleyball Recap: St. Edward Green Wave vs. Chicago Hope Academy

St. Edward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Chicago Hope Academy. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chicago Hope Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, St. Edward sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-19, 20-25, 25-22.

Ben Aguirre paced St. Edward's offense, picking up four kills. Aguirre got some help from Will Foley and his six assists. Aguirre was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

St. Edward's record now sits at 1-6. As for Chicago Hope Academy, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
