Softball Recap: Putnam Comes Up Short

Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs. Even if the Clippers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Laci Sinni made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hailey Summers, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Putnam's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lyman Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Putnam is taking a road trip to face off against Wheeler at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something the Clippers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lyman Memorial, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Norwich RVT at 4:00 p.m.
