Basketball Recap: Ryle Comes Up Short

Ryle lost against Highlands back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. The Ryle Raiders lost to the Highlands Bluebirds on the road by a 67-50 margin. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Ryle lost, don't look at Jaelyn Jones. Despite the final result, she shot 44% from the field on her way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Jones continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ava Warner was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 12 points.

Ryle's defeat dropped their record down to 9-23. As for Highlands, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-8.

Ryle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highlands, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-43 loss against Notre Dame Academy on the 5th.
